Star Party at Brower Observatory — Saturday, July 26, 2014

This month’s star party will be at Brower Observatory on Saturday, July 26, 2014, the night of the new moon. Anticipating the perfect Saturday evening, Colin has the newly-refigured, freshly-coated mirror installed in the 16″ in the dome, so stunning views await us. Tests have shown faint structures to be more clearly visible than before. The Veil Nebula, for example, better reveals its filaments, and globular and open clusters retain sharper focus across the entire field of view. The stars appear truly as jewels!

Brower is available only on Saturday this weekend, so if the weather changes rendering Saturday impossible, regrettably we will not meet. With Friday and Sunday unavailable, there will be no Doodle poll this month, since there are no optional nights.
