Flash Star Party Tonight — Tuesday, August 19, 2014

The Clear Sky Clock shows tonight to be about as good a night for astronomy as we get in these parts, so CMAS loyalist Brian Murphy is opening Bombahook Observatory in Hallowell to the starlight-starved masses! There will be a pizza party before the star party. Please respond to the Doodle poll, so we’ll know how much pizza to order, and be prepared to chip in some cash for the amount of pizza you will eat.

WHERE:

8 Sunrise Drive, Hallowell, ME 04347

Brian’s house is located across from the Cohen Senior Center, in Bombahook Estates, first house on the left.

WHEN:

• 7:00pm, Pizza Party
• 8:00pm, Civil dusk, setup, and early viewing (this summer’s last view of Mars and Saturn?)
• 9:30pm, Astronomic dusk (best viewing with darkest skies)

If you can’t attend the pizza party, come later for the observing. If you get this message too late to add your name to the pizza party, show anyway.

DOODLE POLL

A rough count for the pizza party will truly help, so please respond to the link in the email sent to our entire mailing list.
