How time flies! This Saturday, November 7, 2015, is our star party at Merryspring in Camden. Viewing begins at 7:00pm. Earlier setup welcome. Merryspring actively courts its members to its many events throughout the year, so we anticipate a solid turnout of naturalists and outdoorsmen. A solid showing of astronomers is thus necessary to the evening’s success. Please confirm if you will be attending, stating whether you will be bringing your telescope and/or helping to manage the throngs.
Details: Merryspring is a great warm-up for the coming winter, because it has a heated clubhouse where chilled astronomers can temporarily hide. Merryspring uniquely combines a beautiful downtown park and gardens with surprisingly dark skies, thus exemplifying Maine’s slogan, “The Way Life Should Be.” This is our second attempt this year at hosting a star party for Merryspring, after clouds nixed us last month.
