Brower Star Party Saturday Night

Finally, the clear, steady, winter nights that are so ideal for star parties! Join us at Brower Observatory this Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 6:00pm. No mosquitos, guaranteed! Besides, the Earth will be at perihelion that night, its closest approach to the Sun of the year, so it should be warm, right? See you at:

326 Route 126, North Whitefield, ME 04353

When winter skies are free of clouds, the cold, dry air truly is the steadiest, most transparent of the year. That’s why astronomers get excited about temperatures that, admittedly, may keep others indoors. Be intrepid. Dress warmly, as one might for ice fishing, and expect especially rewarding views through the giant 16″ telescope in Brower Observatory’s dome.
