Comet ISON Update

After all the hype as Comet ISON approached the Sun, there has been comparative silence since. It’s as though nobody wants to report the news. From what I can glean, which may be wrong, ISON was largely, but not completely destroyed in its voyage close to the Sun. After it finally returned to view, it faded quickly, in just a few hours. What’s left of it is likely to dissipate into nothingness, but given ISON’s power to surprise, it’s possible that there will still be a comet to see, albeit one much smaller and less spectacular than had been hoped over the past year. Comet Lovejoy has been brighter than expected, so this may still be a good winter for comets.
