Radio Astronomy Star Party — SUNDAY, November 3, 2013

With the unseasonably warm weather and clear skies we’re enjoying this Saturday afternoon (November 2), one might expect tonight to be the perfect night for a star party, but the Clear Sky Chart and many other weather predictions admonish against that. By shortly after nightfall tonight, predictions are for heavy cloud cover with high humidity and increasingly heavy rain, maybe even a dash of snow. Let’s meet tomorrow, Sunday, November 3, when we should be treated to clear, dry skies. (Just bring your mittens. It may be cold.)

Official beginning is at 7:00pm, but arrive as early as you like to set up. Nimesh will be assembling the radio antenna as early as 5:00pm. Here’s the location, and of course the link to the Doodle poll, which shows that at least ten of us will attend CMAS’s inaugural session of radio astronomy!
