Despite the uncertain weather, there absolutely will be a star party at DRA tonight, Saturday, August 8, 2015. Your host, Wayne B., lives nearby, and will be there at 8:00pm to see what has become of the skies. After a beautiful afternoon, the night will likely become partially cloudy, but sometimes the clear intervals between slowly passing clouds are suitable for astronomy. The skies will likely be steady, but also hazy. In summary, maybe a good night, maybe not, but with a beautiful sunset at the least! If you need your fix of ancient photons, point your wheels toward DRA and say “hello” to Wayne at nightfall.
Remember to bring your long, heavy-duty, outdoor-rated, 3-prong extension cords if you have them, to bring power the several hundred feet from the building to the viewing area. Bring your hair driers, too, to avenge any dew that dares to cloud your optics.
