Brower Star Party Featuring New Observatory

This Saturday, February 10, 2018, CMAS once again defies the will of nature, by scheduling a star party at Brower Observatory, to begin at 6:00pm. The forecasts show three days of snow coming by the end of the week, but the timing of the arrival of major shifts in weather is often off by a day or two, so we may yet meet as planned. If we must postpone, join us instead on the following Saturday, February 17.

If you have not yet seen CMAS’s new SkyPod observatory housing our long-stored 12” Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain, be sure to attend this star party! The fields of Brower are beginning to resemble Mauna Kea, yet they are within an hour or two’s drive of most CMASians. As has long been apparent with the big Newtonian in CMAS’s other dome, there is nothing quite like having a large telescope aligned and always ready for use, simply by opening the roof. Come see what your club has built for you!
