CMAS welcomes tonight’s historic return to Galaxy Quest Observatory in Lincolnville! Forecasts are favorable for clear skies. We’ll have the Big Dob ready to wow your eyeballs with ancient photons from distant suns, and Jacob will demonstrate the latest portable tracking platform for shooting clear images of the sky with an ordinary camera.
FEASTING BEFOREHAND
Feasting before the star party is a CMASian custom. Meet fellow hungry astronomers at the Lincolnville Center General Store for an early supper before the star party, beginning sometime after 4:30pm. Lincolnville General makes truly ennobling pizza, and offers a full buffet of whatever organic goodness happens to be on tonight’s menu. This is also the last weekend for their holiday wine tastings, a fine opportunity to discover a favorite new bottle. The Store closes at 7:00pm in winter, so eat early; there will be no opportunity to eat after the star party.
