An Important Fix for CMAS:
There is a new bug in the link to directions to Foss Hill Observatory, which could lead to your being taken to the wrong place. Follow these directions to fix the problem.

Click the link.

In Google Maps search bar, if you see:
H5Q2+PRM
…edit that to read instead:
H5Q2+PRM Rome ME

If you see:
H5Q2+PRM, Oakland, ME 04963
…edit that to read instead:
H5Q2+PRM, Rome, ME 04963

This next step is important! In the popup list that automatically appears, click:
H5Q2+PRM Rome ME
(Sometimes, the popup includes commas and the Zip code. That’s okay.)

Now look in the lower left of the display. If you see:
H5Q2+PRM, Rome, ME 04963
…you’re okay. Get your directions. If, instead, you see:
H5Q2+PRM, Oakland, ME 04963
Start over. If you see “Oakland,” you will be taken to the wrong place! You must see “Rome.”

So sorry about this! This link used to work correctly. I only discovered it myself upon getting my own directions to tonight’s star party.
I submitted a correction to Google, which has Foss Hill’s address wrongly on record as being in Oakland. It is in Rome. With any luck, this should be fixed before our next meeting at Foss Hill, and should fix the problem with the directions.
