Viewing the Sun with Solar Telescopes

Saturday, June 28, 2014, Time and Location to Be Announced (Maybe)

After Professor Bering’s talk, and just one week after the Summer Solstice, we hope to gather the clan to observe the Sun. Bring your Hydrogen Alpha, Calcium-K, or white-light solar telescopes, if we can find a place to gather. Better yet, bring just yourselves, and use *other people’s* Hydrogen Alpha, Calcium-K, or white-light solar telescopes, since most members are curious for a look, but don’t have scopes like these of their own. Another notice will arrive telling whether we’ve found a place to meet. The City of Belfast is pretty strict about clubs such as ours meeting on their lands, so it may be easier to send a rover to Mars than to find a location!
