For those who like to block their calendars well in advance, here is a list of all the Saturdays for which star parties will be scheduled through the end of 2023. Most months have two suitable dates, but some have only one, due to a bright Moon during peak observing hours on the other Saturdays. Lunar and solar parties could, of course, be announced for other dates that are not presented here.
About half of all scheduled star parties get canceled due to clouds. With twenty on the calendar, that means that about ten will likely be held, or a bit fewer than one per month on average. Watch your email on the dates of star parties, for the many cancellations that will be forced upon us.
