Saturday, October 26, 2024 — Star Party at the Railway Museum
Saturday, November 2, 2024 — Rain Date or Additional Star Party
Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway
Alna Center Station, Alna Road / Route 218, Alna ME 04535
Google Maps Plus Code: 39MJ+2QC Alna, Maine
5:30pm — Setup (earlier arrival welcome)
6:45pm — Guests arrive by train
The weather is forecast to be good for Saturday the 26th. If the forecast changes, the star party could be postponed as late as Saturday at midday, in which case the rain date would be the following Saturday, November 2nd. To join those CMASians who have already volunteered to help, send us a message!
If you are new to astronomy and do not yet feel ready to help, you are welcome to attend as a member of CMAS. The train is sold out, so arrive by car.
We will be in the field at Alna Center Station, a stop along the tracks some distance from the museum’s main campus. Our guests will arrive by train. With time limited by the train’s arrival and departure, there is always a pleasant intensity to the observing. The train has been sold out for months, so we are guaranteed a crowd. Volunteers are promised a complimentary ride on the railroad at some other time; call to arrange yours.

Trying to find your way with other links or other mapping software will likely lead you to the wrong location, due to frequent errors in mapping software for rural Maine.
