Volunteer Wanted to Show the Comet in Binoculars

Here is an exceptional opportunity to have a major role in the star party, whether you already know how or want CMAS to train you (which would take just a few minutes). The wide field of view of binoculars makes it easy to find Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. Point the binoculars in the general direction, and the comet will be readily visible. If you do get lost, help will be nearby to bring it back into the field of view. Wow the crowds with spectacular views of the brightest comet we’ve seen in ages!

CMAS will bring the Oberwerkes binoculars and the fine mount made by Lenny Arsenault. The mount will keep the binoculars pointed at the comet, even when no one is using them. The volunteer will only need to show the guests where to place their eyes, and check occasionally that the comet remains in the field of view. If this sounds like the role for you, send us a message!
